Ezekiel 33:12 KJV

“Therefore, thou son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression: as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live for his righteousness in the day that he sinneth”

The righteousness of the righteous will not save him in the day of his iniquity, the sins of a sinner will not be remembered or mentioned to him in the day of his repentance.

This very truth brings chills to me and tells me that the journey to eternal life is a lifelong process. It is a continuous journey until we breathe our last.

It does not matter what you have done in the past, whether good or bad, the foremost thing is how you ended your life: doing good or doing evil?

Don’t be weary of doing good, it pays forever. Don’t think you can do bad and then later change to good – you cannot deceive God. Many that wallowed in sins bearing the full gospel of Christ in their minds did not have that last chance to ‘switch’. Live everyday like its your last and you will not be weary of righteousness.

That the sins of the sinner will not even be mentioned to him when he repents shows us that God is not interested in the death of a sinner but in his repentance and gaining an eternal life of Joy and Glory.
